Professor Yongchang Sun is Chairman of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Peking University Third Hospital,and Director of the Research Center for Chronic Airway Diseases, Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing.

Professor Sun has undertaken clinical and laboratory research into COPD, specifically on immunological mechanisms, multimorbidity, and comorbid fungal diseases, and published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers. He currently serves as Deputy Editor of Chinese Medical Journal, Vice President of Chinese Thoracic Society(CTS) and Chair of COPD Assembly of CTS.
