Koichi Izumikawa, MD, PhD, is Professor of Infectious Diseases at Nagasaki University Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and a leading expert in infectious diseases, particularly fungal infections and aspergillosis. His clinical and research expertise focuses on invasive fungal diseases, antimicrobial resistance, infection control, and clinical infectious diseases. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of severe fungal infections, especially aspergillosis, and has authored more than 300 PubMed-indexed scientific publications.
