A Message from the Conference Chair

Recent years have seen significant advances in the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of both Aspergillosis and Mucormycosis. The Aspergillus field continues to expand rapidly, driven by the development of new antifungal agents, innovations in point-of-care diagnostics, and major progress in translational, immunological, epidemiological, and diagnostic research.

At the same time, research into Mucormycosis is progressing through novel studies exploring disease pathogenesis and emerging diagnostic strategies. These developments make this an especially exciting period for medical mycology, particularly in areas such as the development of new antifungal therapies featuring novel mechanisms of action and inhaled delivery systems.

Despite these advances, invasive Aspergillosis and Mucormycosis continue to carry a high mortality rate. This poor prognosis highlights the critical importance of preventive strategies, including chemoprophylaxis and environmental control measures. Against this backdrop, staying connected and informed about the latest research has never been more important.

This meeting provides another valuable opportunity to bring together the global community of experts in Aspergillosis and Mucormycosis. A core principle of this meeting remains the promotion of collaboration between clinicians, scientists, and industry partners to further advance the field.
